Project case study / Operations
Restaurant Management System
A role-based application bringing restaurant orders, inventory, billing, and reporting into one workflow.
01 / Context
The problem
Restaurant teams need to coordinate orders and bills while keeping track of stock. Different staff members need access to different parts of the operation.
02 / Contribution
What I built
Built owner, waiter, and cashier modules, with order workflows, inventory tracking, bill generation, and operational reports.
03 / Structure
How it fits together
The browser interface connects to Flask routes and SQLAlchemy-backed data access. Role-specific modules organize the screens around staff responsibilities.
04 / Engineering focus
The important boundary
An order, its bill, and its inventory impact are related but distinct. Clear responsibilities across these workflows are important for keeping the system understandable.
05 / Further development
What I would improve next
Expand tests around role permissions and billing edge cases, review concurrent order updates, and add an audit trail for sensitive operational changes.
